🌍 Geological Significance & Heritage
Granite is the most common intrusive igneous rock in Earth’s continental crust, formed through the slow crystallization of silica-rich magma deep underground. Its coarse to medium grain texture is composed primarily of feldspar, quartz, and mica—appearing as silvery muscovite, dark biotite, or both.
The term “granite” originates from the Latin word granum, meaning “grain,” referencing its visibly granular structure. Granite ranks as the second hardest natural material after diamond, making it ideal for high-performance surfaces in both residential and commercial settings.
Egyptian granite, including Light Red Aswan, has a rich legacy dating back to the pharaohs. It was used in ancient statues, monuments, and architectural elements, valued for its color, hardness, and enduring beauty. Today, it continues to be a material of choice for luxury homes, public spaces, and heritage projects.
Granite’s mineral composition—primarily feldspar, quartz, mica, and amphibole—forms an interlocking matrix that contributes to its strength and visual depth. Depending on its mineral balance, granite can appear in shades of white, pink, grey, or black, offering a wide palette for design versatility.

🧱 Installation Guidelines: Light Red Aswan Granite Flooring
To ensure a successful and long-lasting installation, follow these key steps:

1. Subfloor Preparation
Begin by leveling and smoothing the subfloor. Remove any paint or sealants using sandpaper. Address cracks and uneven areas to prevent future damage and ensure a stable base. If installing over concrete, seal all holes and crevices thoroughly.

2. Tile Placement
Use granite tiles with precise 90-degree corners. For larger rooms, tile spacers help maintain alignment and guide necessary cuts.

3. Mortar Mixing & Application
Prepare mortar using one part cement to five parts sand, mixed with water to achieve the desired consistency. Apply with a trowel at a thickness of 6–8 mm.

4. Tile Installation
Position tiles using spacers to maintain uniform gaps. Press each tile firmly into place and tap gently with a rubber mallet to ensure full adhesion.

5. Grouting
Apply grout between tiles to create a strong bond. Allow the grout to cure properly before cleaning. Mix in small batches and use within 15–20 minutes of preparation.

6. Cleaning & Sealing
Clean the surface with warm water and a sponge, removing all dust and debris. While darker shades of Light Red Aswan Granite typically do not require sealing, lighter tones benefit from sealant to enhance shine and protect the surface.

Once installed, Light Red Aswan Granite offers a refined, durable finish that enhances both interior and exterior spaces with timeless elegance.
